The course involves an investigation of the legal and administrative arrangements, and EIA's role in planning. Emphasis is given to the process and relevant disciplines (eg ecology, economics, sociology), strategic environmental assessment and the various techniques used to assess environmental impacts (air, noise, water, ecology), social impact assessment, and public participation in the process.
