ENVM7100 Principles of Sustainable Development Introduction to the interactions between ecology, economics & society that have led to the concept of sustainable development. The history, principles and approaches to sustainable development are examined and critiqued. Specific case studies are addressed from industrialised and developing countries, including environmental governance, environmental risk, the impacts of poverty & affluence, the importance of intergenerational equity, and the management of biodiversity, agriculture, water and energy.
