Visiting Fellowship in Geography

The School of Geography, Planning and Architecture seeks to offer an annual Fellowship in Geography for a period of 16 to 18 weeks. The Fellowship was established in 2003 to strengthen the School’s international reputation, facilitate development of ongoing research and teaching collaborations, and provide exchange of discipline perspectives to colleagues and students. The Fellowship is offered in the Geographical Sciences Program for approximately 16 to 18 weeks during the period July to December. The Program has particular research and teaching strengths in climatology, coastal processes, biogeography, demography, migration and urban geography. Recipients of the Fellowship are expected to actively participate in the daily activities of the School and the wider University community through established and emerging research and teaching programmes and seminar presentations. Importantly, Fellows are expected to be actively involved in both field and experimental research by staff and graduate research students, to pursue an active publication record of scholarly papers, and to work with colleagues and postgraduate students in the development of joint research initiatives with the aim of establishing lasting linkages to the School.

The Fellowship is advertised annually in November. For further details please contact Dr. Hamish McGowan.

Apply for the 2009 Fellowship Vacancy by 30 Jan 2009.
